Over the decades: *ODR* covers from 1972 and 1976 一 and the 2026 electronic ORRC newsletter.

ORRC newsletters are as old as the club itself. The Oregon Distance Runner, fondly termed the ODR, was a print newsletter published by the Oregon Road Runners Club from 1972 through 2020. It was mailed to all members as a member benefit. The ODR grew by leaps and bounds over the years, starting as an informal assembly with hand drawn art, eventually blossoming into a glossy periodical with full-color covers.

Unfortunately, rising printing and mailing costs, a shortage of contributers, and the pandemic in 2020, put an end to the printed ODR‘s long run as the club went fully electronic. While many members miss the printed version, one upside to the electronic newsletter was that it could reach a broader audience. The electronic newsletter was no longer limited to members-only, and it could come out more frequently, with results and photo links to ORRC events. Currently the “Newsletter” is published once a month, with the addition of a “Results” newsletter published once a month as well.

Below is an archive of all the old ODRs and paper newsletters (in PDF format), as well as the new electronic newsletters coming out. Please note that the results listed in the old ODRs may not be complete. Many times they only listed Oregon residents.

And the archives are not totally complete! If you have an old ODR or newsletter that is not listed here, please let us know by email, ! We’d love to complete our collection!

ORRC Electronic Newsletters (2015- )

The electronic newsletters, started in 2015 were sent via email, and are listed here in PDF format. The “Results” newsletters (containing upcoming events, results and photos) started in 2023 as once a month addition to the regular newsletter (which contained more articles and member profiles).

ORRC Print Newsletters (1970s-2020)

The “Oregon Distance Runner” (ODR) started in the 1970s, and had its last issue in 2020. Additional “newsletters” and “pacers” came out periodically between publications of the ODR to get information out quicker.
