Best Dam Run – Sept. 26, 2015
This all-paved course follows a gentle stretch of the Clackamas River featuring pristine views of the river, shading forests, interesting geology and the occasional bald eagle or osprey keeping an eye on things. Most of the point-to-point course is closed to vehicles. For more information or to register, click here.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hagg Lake Runs, Decadent Creations whipped up a big batch of cookies for all the participants. A special thanks to Washington County for use of Henry Hagg Lake for our event and our volunteers from Vernonia High School who made this event possible. We are pleased to give each race participants a special pair of socks commerating the 40th anniversary of the Hagg Lake Runs. We hope you enjoy them at the next ORRC event.
Results from the Vernonia Marathon and Half
Sunny skies broke for the Vernonia Marathon and Half on Sunday making for a great running and walking experience for everyone. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to support the event with their time, energy and smiles. There were 600 participants who took part in the race. Timing and results were provided by Eclectic Edge Racing.
A special thanks to the cities of Vernonia and Banks as well the Oregon State Parks for hosting our event.

Help improve the ORRC website
The ORRC volunteer Web Transition Team is seeking feedback from all runners and club members. We are trying to identify the top two reasons runners come to our website. A one-question survey will allow you to let your voice be heard on what you value in our club’s website.
Spring is here and so are the ORRC Spring Classics
The club has three events this season featuring 5Ks to a full marathon. Join us to kick that cabin fever by running the Vernonia, Hagg Lake Runs and Up the Lazy River races.
In addition, the Keizer Iris Festival Runs is offering ORRC members a 15% discount on the Iris Run 5K or 3K on Saturday, May 16 or their Marathon, Half or 10K on Sunday, May 17. Look for the discount code in the next e-mail newsletter to Oregon Road Runners Club members.
5K Series is Now Open for Registration
We are excited to continue the ORRC 5K Series of races in 2015! Registration opened January 1 and is limited to 100 participants or until Thursday, April 15, whichever comes first – so don’t delay! This non-competitive series is geared toward new runners or walkers, so there are no end-of-year age group awards. However, that’s not to say that there won’t be prizes and rewards!
